Tulip, ‘Lilac Wonder’

Large, rose-lilac flowers with contrasting yellow bases that shine like spotlights, and golden anthers. They open almost flat in the warm spring sunshine. They have short stems and pointed petals.

Tulip Class – Species: Known to perennialize better than most tulips, they are wonderful for rock gardens, sweet clusters and naturalized drifts.

General Information +

General Characteristics: Tulips look best in mass plantings. They make good container plants and are delightful cut flowers.

Tip: Grow in sun in informal groupings of 5 or more bulbs.

Planting/Care Instructions +

Easy to Grow: 1. Dig a hole 3-4" deep or two times the height of the bulb. 2. Set the bulbs firmly in place, with the pointed ends facing upward. 3. Cover the bulbs with soil and water thoroughly.

Planting Instructions: Plant bulbs in fall 3-4" deep and 2-3" apart in well-drained soil with plenty of humus. Remove old flowers leaving as much stem and foliage as possible until they die down.

When to Plant Outdoors: Product should be planted immediately after purchase. In extremely warm climates, plant when the ground cools. Refer to the map for general guidelines. These are recommended planting times. You may plant earlier or later than indicated as long as the ground is not too warm or frozen.

For Indoor Gardens or Extremely Warm: Plant bulbs in containers with soil and cool at 40° for 15 weeks. Follow easy to grow tips above.
