Tulip, ‘Elizabeth Arden’

Tulip, ‘Elizabeth Arden’ is a delightful, salmon-pink flower and has violet flamed edges and a yellow and white base. An American favorite. This tulip is as fashionable as its name suggests. Classic in color and shape, these tall stemmed tulips will draw attention. You will enjoy this outstanding tulip! The blossoms are an almost perfect pyramid shaped when closed, but they can measure as much as 6″ in diameter when fully opened.

Darwin Hybrid: These hybrids have large flowers on long, sturdy stems, with brilliant colors in all shades between red and yellow. The flower is usually closed in the morning and opens to resemble a poppy as the day goes along. These are improved, larger-flowering Darwin types. Darwin Hybrids usually bloom several weeks earlier than the regular Darwin types.

Tulips look best in mass plantings. They make good container plants and are delightful cut flowers.

Planting Instructions: Grow in sun in informal groupings of 5 or more bulbs. Plant bulbs in fall 3-4 inches deep or two times the height of the bulb and 5" apart in well-drained soil with plenty of humus. Remove old flowers leaving as much stem and foliage as possible until they die down.
