Tulip, ‘Davenport’

Tulip ‘Davenport’ has fiery contrasts, the vibrant red blooms are distinctively edged in deep yellow. This is our most exotic fringed variety. Brighten your spring borders with this extra special, striking, new fringed tulip. ‘Davenport’ is a must for adding that extra special something to your garden, each and every year. This is a strong and long-lasting tulip, with bright bold colors! The distinctive fringed edges of these wonderful tulips resemble frosty crystals on a winter’s window. By choosing Fringed tulips you’ll not only bring a unique look to your garden or bouquet but because of their late flowering and long lasting blossoms you can easily extend your flowering season!

Fringed Tulips: A relatively new and expanding division, these tulips have a clearly defined crystalline fringe and make very beautiful and artistic flowers that also look like the frayed edge of a piece of satin fabric. More and more people are becoming interested in fringed tulips – so much so, that these tulips now have their own group. It must be remembered, however, that because the tulips in this group are mutants from various other groups, the heights and flowering periods will vary somewhat among them. The one characteristic they have in common, though, is their finely incised petals.
