The ‘Dallas’ tulip produces delicate pink to near white flowers with a finely ruffled, crystalline fringe. Best used at focal points where the unusual flowers can be appreciated. This is a very elegant tulip. Flower is long-lived and good for cut flowers. It is most effective in beds, borders or low walls. For the best effects, plant the bulbs in clusters of 5 to 15 bulbs of one or two varieties, or scatter clusters throughout the garden or flower border. You’re sure to enjoy this outstanding tulip!
Fringed Tulips: A relatively new and expanding division, these tulips have a clearly defined crystalline fringe and make very beautiful and artistic flowers that also look like the frayed edge of a piece of satin fabric. More and more people are becoming interested in fringed tulips – so much so, that these tulips now have their own group. It must be remembered, however, that because the tulips in this group are mutants from various other groups, the heights and flowering periods will vary somewhat among them. The one characteristic they have in common, though, is their finely incised petals.
