Filipendula (Meadowsweet) ‘Purpurea’

This Japanese Meadowsweet has deep magenta-pink flowers with red stems, long pointed serrated leaflets and is a native of Asia. Soft ferny foliage with slender branching red stems that produce a frothy myriad of double flowers that fade to paler pink during July and August. The dark green leaves are also very attractive when the plants are not in bloom. Lasts well as a cut flower and great for drying. Prefers moist but well-drained soil in sun or part shade.
