This is an all-time favorite daffodil. Soft yellow & white in color. This is a playful yet elegant flower. ‘Ice Follies’ is a very cheerful daffodil that is also sweetly scented! Petals are creamy-white, while the corona opens yellow and fades to white with a broadly flattened cup. A great performer. Renowned for outstanding growth habit and blooming quality. A showy display that will add springtime to any garden. Great for naturalizing. They will increase ten-fold over the years. Large-cupped daffodils are perhaps the most popular. By definition, a large-cup daffodil features a cup that is more than 1/3 but less than the length of the petals. ‘Ice Follies’ rises 14-16″ tall in spring. Flowers are unusually large (to 4″ across). Each flower features white petals and a ruffled yellow cup that matures to creamy white. One flower per stem. Narrow, linear to strap-shaped, green leaves in erect to sprawling clumps. Excellent fresh cut flower.
If planted in well-drained soil, daffodils are virtually disease and trouble free. Once finished flowering, allow foliage to flop over and dry out. Divide if flower production or size has dwindled. Daffodils are ideal for naturalizing (they bloom every spring) and may be planted anywhere in your landscape, in sun or shade, along borders, in groups along a fence or around a tree or mailbox. Daffodils look best in mass plantings. They make good container plants and are delightful cut flowers.
