Citronella

Citronella is a popular choice among homeowners!  It is easy to grow and requires little maintenance.  Its citrusy fragrance and unique texture are a welcome addition in the summer.  This member of the geranium family typically grows to be 2-3 feet tall with medium green, lacy leaves.  Citronella plants make an excellent addition to the patio garden and add great texture to the landscape.  Their beautiful lavender to pink blooms make for a beautiful contrast against their green leaves!

Planting Instructions: Planting Instructions: Choose a site with full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil. Plant in the spring, after the last frost. Dig a hole the same depth as the roots and twice as wide. Place the plant in the hole so the top of the roots are at soil level. Fill in the hole with soil to the soil surface. Water thoroughly. Water every few days or when the top inch of soil dries out. Do not overwater. Fertilizer: A slow-release fertilizer, such as a 5-10-5 may be added to the soil at the time of planting. If you choose to add fertilizer, follow the instructions on the fertilizer package. Pruning: Prune regularly for shape.
