Astilbe simplicifolia ‘Sprite’

Simplicifolia ‘Sprite’ has pink-peach, graceful, arching plumes. Deep, rich green foliage is finely dissected, and crinkly-edged. ‘Sprite’ is a dwarf variety which features a foliage mound to only 10″ tall and it is defiantly an eye catcher. Open, airy panicles of star-like flowers are followed by rust-colored, ornamental seed heads which provide a few additional months of interest. Slower grower but definitely worth the wait! This perennial thrives in moist, shady locations and is popular for border plantings or alongside water areas.
