Strawberry, 'Pineberry'
Item PB101

An unusual, hard-to-find strawberry!
NEW Strawberry, 'Pineberry' is white with red seeds and tastes a bit like pineapple! This is an unusual, hard-to-find strawberry! These small berries are full of the finest flavors and aroma that other strawberries cannot compete with. Gourmet chefs throughout the world search for these delicious strawberries to garnish the food creations they prepare. One plant will produce fruits from the beginning of the spring until frost; it is a SUPER EVERBEARING plant. Flowers and fruits appear at the same time, making this plant an excellent choice for a groundcover or border plant with delicious fresh fruit. It also has excellent winter hardiness. This is one of the most delicious and ornamental fruits you will ever grow!

A Pineberry is smaller than a common strawberry. The Pineberry fruit is the result of cross-breeding, not genetic engineering as has been claimed by some. The fruit flesh can range from soft white to orange and is very fragrant with a slight pineapple flavor. The plant is disease resistant. Good for small-scale farming. The Pineberry has been marketed to European restaurants, bakeries and wholesale markets. The berry has been dubbed the Pineberry for the UK market, where it became available in 2011.

Grow in average, medium wet, well-drained soil in full sun. Prefers organically rich, sandy loams. Strawberries are a fruit crop, which can be grown all over the United States.
