Chionodoxa may be planted anywhere in your landscape, in sun or shade, and is perfect for the rock garden or woodland setting. They appear like small blue stars with a white center. Full sun or dappled shade is suitable, though they grow best in an open, sunny position. If you have never used bulbs before, you should try this one and immediately enjoy its easy growth. They bloom very early in the spring season. Chionodoxa are commonly called "Glory of the Snow" because of their early flowering. It is so-named because in some climates it blooms early enough that it pokes its little bright blue six-petal flowers right out of the snow. They are very hardy and will increase freely over the years and are super for naturalizing. Chionodoxa forbesii is generally free from pests and diseases.
