Packaged Perennials – Item DL816
The Daylily is a basic for any garden, requiring minimal care. Most of these choice Daylily varieties are repeat blooming favorites that will provide you with color early in summer and again later in the season. A well established daylily clump may produce as many as 400 flowers in a single season. Each plant will produce blooms for 30–40 days between early and late summer, depending on the variety. By planting several different daylilies, it's easy to have continuous show of blooms throughout the entire summer.
Planting instructions: May be planted in any well-drained soil. Dig a hole large enough to encompass the roots without bending or circling. Set the plant in place so the crown (part of the plant where the root meets the stem) is about 1-2 inches below the soil surface. Cover with soil to the original soil surface and water thoroughly. Daylilies multiply rapidly and clumps may be divided in spring or fall when plants become overcrowded. For the best quality flowers, daylilies should be grown in full sun, however they will tolerate light shade. Daylilies take quite a bit of water and food so they shouldn't be planted to close to trees or shrubs which compete for the moisture and nutrients.
