Tulip, Merry Widow

Tulip, Merry Widow is a glowing, deep red, tipped in pure white on the outer edges. The contrast of color makes Merry Widow a show-stopper in any landscape setting. Bloomtime: Mid Spring - Plant Height: 14"-16".
This is a Triumph Tulip: Some of the tallest tulips that are perfect for the garden or forcing. Sturdy stems have mid-sized flowers in a wide assortment of colors and color combinations. Long lasting blooms make excellent cut flowers. Tulips look best in mass plantings. They make good container plants and are delightful cut flowers.

Planting instructions:

Grow in sun in informal groupings of 5 or more bulbs. Plant bulbs in fall 6-8" deep and 5" apart in well-drained soil with plenty of humus. Remove old flowers leaving as much stem and foliage as  possible until they die down.

Easy to grow:
1. Dig a hole 6-8" deep. 2. Set the bulbs firmly in place, with the pointed ends facing upward. 3. Cover the bulbs with soil and water thoroughly.

When to Plant Outdoors:
Product should be planted immediately after purchase. In extremely warm climates, plant when the ground cools. Refer to the map for general guidelines. These are recommended planting times. You may plant earlier or later than indicated as long as the ground is not too warm or frozen.
