Calla Lilies have very elegant, trumpet-like flowers that add an exotic, tropical flair to any garden. They are becoming more and more popular for planting outdoors in containers or in the perennial garden. The sword-like, slightly ruffled green foliage often has attractive white freckles. Callas look great planted under trees and in other protected spots with shade-loving plants such as caladium, hosta, and impatiens. They are also attractive in pots and planters, providing a late-summer surprise when other flowers begin to fade. Calla Lilies are wonderfully striking and long lasting as a cut-flower for arrangements. Just one or two of them are especially attractive in a vase.
